Dream Connection

Each year, Chi Omega partners with the Dream Connection organization to help make a child's dreams come true. Dream Connection is a non-profit organization located in Knoxville, Tennessee, and their goal is to raise charitable contributions to fulfill the "once-in-a-lifetime dream come true" of children between the ages of three and eighteen, with life-threatening or chronically debilitating illnesses in the East Tennessee community. In the spring, the members of Chi Omega host the annual Dream Connection Flag Football Tournament to help raise money to help make a child's wish come true. Members of the UT community compete in the football tournament and attend a cookout hosted by the members of Chi O. We are privileged to have the opportunity to meet and spend time with the kids that we raise money for. Last year, Chi Omega helped Kayli's dream of getting a camper to go camping with her papa.

Chi Omega is excited to announce that our 13th annual flag football tournament will be held on Saturday, April 1nd, 2016 from 11-4pm!!

We are excited and honored to announce that we will be sponsoring TWO Dream Kids this year! Brady, a nine year old with the genetic condition Progeria, and Jojo, an eighteen year old finishing up chemo treatments. Brady is an absolute ray of sunshine. He has a specific type of mutated gene and is one of only ten cases ever recorded in medical history. The future for Brady is uncertain and they are continuously trying to learn more about his rare condition. He faces so many difficulties, both physically and emotionally, but always remains passionate about life and people. He loves sports, his family, and serving others. Our second Dream Child is more like a Dream Man! Jojo is an eighteen year old who graduated from high school last year. Jojo was diagnosed with a form of cancer in July of 2016 and started chemo at the beginning of August. Since then, Jojo has had multiple rounds of chemo that spanned 5 days each. Jojo loves all things motorcycles! Whether it’s riding, buying, selling, or fixing them up, he has a passion for these adrenaline-inducing machines! Jojo will be attending Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in the fall and will be studying Aerospace Engineering! We can’t wait to grant the wishes of these two amazing boys!
